Wide-leg jeans are comfortable, flattering and easier to style than they look. The trick is balance: a loose leg looks best with a top that is fitted, cropped or tucked in. Here are four outfits with our Vintage Wide Leg Jeans.
Know Your Pair
Ours have a mid-rise waist with a button and belt loops, a loose straight leg from hip to hem and a light blue acid wash. On the back, each pocket has a small embroidered pink bow. The full length falls over sneakers or heels, so you don’t need to roll them up.
1. The Easy One: Tee and Sneakers
Tuck the Essential Cotton Tee into the jeans, or just the front, and add white sneakers. The tucked top shows the waist and keeps the wide leg from looking heavy. White or black tees both work with the light wash.
2. Double Denim: With the Denim Shirt
Denim with denim works when the two washes are different. The light acid wash of the jeans with the mid-blue Classic Denim Shirt gives enough contrast. Wear the shirt open over a tee, or tucked in with the sleeves rolled up.
3. Cooler Days: With a Wool Sweater
The Mock Neck Wool Sweater has a regular fit, so tuck the front in to mark the waist. Add boots or heels under the full-length hem. Gray, black or white sweaters keep it classic; orange or red make the jeans the calm part of the outfit.
4. Athleisure: With a Zip Jacket
For a sporty look, wear the Seamless Sports Bra with the Minimalist Zip Jacket zipped halfway, and finish with sneakers. The fitted jacket balances the loose jeans perfectly.
One Accessory Is Enough
